Sky Riding LI was created so I can share my love of horses and the positive benefits from horseback riding with everyone!

Nancy Tejo, Owner, Director Sky Riding LI, is a PATH (Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship) Intl. Certified Riding Instructor since 2008, teaches both therapeutic and classical riding lessons.

Nancy has an extensive knowledge of riding disciplines and horsemanship, and a broad understanding of disabilities. She incorporates a variety of teaching methods to address each student’s unique needs. An important part of her work is to keep in communication with parents and caregivers to determine goals and to adjust the plan as needed.

Nancy integrates her more than 14 years’ experience peer facilitating women’s discussion groups with her passion for horses. This blend of group and equine experience enables her to be an ideal Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy co-facilitator. She is a graduate from Hofstra University with a BA in Biology.

“My goal is to bring the experience to others, of how horses can help empower and support, as they have supported me through my life transitions.”

Christa Schorn LCSW, Director of Clinical Services, a licensed clinical social worker for over 20 years, works with children, adolescents, adults and families utilizing traditional therapy methods as well as Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy. Christa’s unique style incorporates a variety of EFP modalities, including “Adventures In Awareness” by Barbara K. Rector as well as her own experiences both in and out of the saddle.

“Horses have taught and continue to teach me important lessons about myself. I am excited to offer our programming to clients so that they can experience the power and healing of horses for themselves.”
